All my life, I have loved performing!!! I sing everywhere - in front of mirrors, in my car, in the
mall to win Mavericks tickets, on the train in Australia, in the subway in Boston, etc...
At Angelo State, I was in multiple musical groups - Blondes of San Angelo, Sandy and the Sand Dollars and the Mandrels, just to name a few.
I love microphones, too, so it's perfectly natural for me to use a real microphone in my car for those songs you just HAVE to sing along with!! I stole this mic from a White Elephant Gift Exchange...some people's trash is another person's treasure!!!
Here are a few of my favorite songs to sign to in the car:
1) If I could turn back time (Cher)
2) Livin' on a Prayer (Bon Jovi)
3) Dancing Queen (Abba)
4) Multiple songs by Celine Dion
5) Voice of Truth (Casting Crowns)
6) Boy Bands (BSB, NSYNC, Boyz II Men)
7) Don't Stop Believin' (Journey)
8) I Got a Feeling (Black-Eyed Peas)
9) There are too many to name!!!!

Royal Wedding Day
I remember getting up early to watch Princess Diana's wedding when I was 5...so there was no doubt that I was going to get up at 3:30 am on 4/29 to watch Prince William and Kate get married. What a wonderful day!! I taped every news, special, etc... and watched recaps the entire weekend! Of course, wearing my tiara!
BIG day in the life of Sandy!!!
After many years and tears, I finally decided to donate some bridesmaid dresses to charity. The Prom Shop Project helps high school students in need find dresses, shoes, etc... to make girls feel special at prom! I had 10 dresses in Dallas and donated 8 of those!! For future purposes, I took a photo with those and the remaining 5 I had in Graham!
This was not easy...when the lady grabbed my dresses, I started crying!! It's a great cause and I'm so glad I donated! The girls try on dresses and come to the window where everyone claps!!
Take Me Out to the Ballgame
For someone who thought they would not go to many Rangers' games this year...I went to 3 in April!!! Kris (my sister) and I went on a spontaneous outing; then my daddy got awesome tickets for the entire family; and then Susan had an extra ticket! I FINALLY bought a 2nd Rangers' t-shirt so I won't have to wear the same one all the time! :)
Ice, Ice Baby!
SUPER BOWL IN DALLAS!
Finally, the Super Bowl came to Dallas and I could not have been more excited!! In order to capture the spirit of the game...I went around the entire Metroplex and soaked it all it. The Stadium and downtown Ft. Worth was before the ice storm and Downtown Dallas and the NFL Experience was on Super Bowl Sunday!

Troops fly into DFW every day - so on Dec. 31, I decided to help welcome them home!! 200 troops from Iraq and Afghanistan landed to start their 2 weeks of R&R. They arrived to a crowd of supporters waving flags, cheering and shaking hands! I loved it! Go to the site welcomehomeahero.com to get more info!!

Tour of Cowboys Stadium
Yes, I went to Cowboys Stadium again. On Dec. 29, Susan and I took a tour. Last year about this time, we toured Texas Stadium...so it was a tradition we just couldn't pass up!
While we were annoyed the field didn't have the famous star in the middle (they were getting ready for the Cotton Bowl), we were impressed to see the Cowboys were actually having a practice. DeMarcus Ware waved at me TWO times when I yelled at him...so cool!
